Today we went into the hall to meet someone nice and then after that we got the duffy books we ordered. The person’s name is Carla and she was a hair dresser and she also shared the story of her becoming a hair dresser. The books I got was Baby-Sitters little sister, Karen s roller skates and Baby-sitters club Jessi’s secret language.

This week we have been writing about our perfect meal.
Here is mine:
My perfect meal is pesto pasta. It looks like pasta with a green sauce and big chunks of chicken and grated cheese. It tastes so nice like chicken and cheese with the pasta and pesto together. I get excited when I get told I’m having it for Dinner. It isn’t my favourite food but its like my 5th favourite. My real favourite is Sushi and Pizza.

For the last 2 weeks we have been making murals. If you’re wondering what a mural is, it is a picture with stuff from where you’re from and a little bit of your school. For example I’m from NBC school and live in New Brighton. I worked with my friends Stella and Despina. I think we did pretty well but we could have filled in the white parts even more.

This winter we did winter sports which is where you pick a sport then you do that sport every Friday. I picked table tennis as well Stella, Koby, Isa, Brenna and Lilia.
We did table tennis at Grace vinyard and before we did the games we got to play board games and watch Dude perfect which is a you-tube Chanel where they do trick shots and other cool things. One other thing we got to do was air hockey which was very cool!
Pearl was the one who taught and took us to table tennis so, a big thanks to her. Me and the other table tennis people really appreciate your help. Big thanks once again!
I enjoyed doing table tennis a lot but I’ve done it for 2 years in a row so I’m ready to move on to a different sport.

Last week everyone was recording themselves reading a big part of a poem or book. We were learning to read in fluency. I was reading time to go to Rufus, which is a story about a dog needing to go to the vet.

On the 1st of August we got a couple visitors… There were 4 RUGBY PLAYERS! They were from Canterbury and we were lucky to have them over at our school. Their names are Sars, Brook, Rameka and Billy. We got to go over to the hall and ask them questions and they answered them.

This week we have been playing a game called an array. The array is where there are hundreds board then you find a buddy. Then you get 2 dice and then roll them. Say if you rolled a 4 and 2 you would say 2 x 4 is 8. So you would cover 8 squares on the board. Then its the next person’s turn. Who ever runs out of space first lose’s and the other wins!

This week we have been doing a Avail of Prince of Egypt! An avail is where you watch a movie and then do activities at the same time, of the movie. Just like Rhyme time, where the teachers stop the movie then the teacher says a word you have to rhyme as many times as you can. The word has to be a word one character says.
Or Last word, where you write down the last word the people say, but the teachers need to pause it after they say the word. Anyway the movie Price of Egypt was a really cool movie, about Moses trying to free the people getting hurt and working hard for his step brother. At the end he separates the sea and escapes! It should be on Netflix, this movie.
